Portland Metro Arts is a nonprofit arts organization that provides access to arts education and performance opportunities through the PMA Center, PMA School, Outreach programs and Metro Dancers company. View map to our location.
PMA Center has a 165 seat theatre, dance studios, music rehearsal spaces, and support facilities that are available for rent to performances, rehearsals, family and corporate functions.
PMA School offers class for all ages and all levels in dance, music, theatre and visual art.
PMA Outreach programs provide in-school, after-school and community based classes in dance, music, theatre, and visual art.
Metro Dancers has a full season of performances that include repertory concerts, full-length ballets and community performances.
There are public performances through out the year and the schedule can be seen on the performances page and more details can also be seen on the Calendar.

About PMA
Portland Metro Arts is registered as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization within the State of Oregon. PMA sponsors a variety of arts education, performance and outreach programs and projects throughout the Portland Metropolitan area, year-round. The organization has gone through a great deal of change since its beginnings in 1978.
Originally formed as Ballet Workshop Advocates in 1978, it changed names to Metro Dance Advocates in 1983 and has recently emerged as Portland Metro Performing Arts in 2000. We changed our name to Portland Metro Arts in 2009. Each change reflected the broadening of interests and scope of the organization, to encompass a wider range of arts disciplines. The activities of the organization are governed by a volunteer Board. As a non-profit organization we rely on the generosity and support of our community partners to continue to provide quality arts education and performance experiences. Here's how you can help.
Our Mission
To insure that everyone, particularly youth, have an opportunity to learn, perform and experience the arts; by providing meaningful access to quality arts education and performance programs for the community.

Insure quality dance, theatre, music and visual arts education and performance opportunities remain accessible to everyone, regardless of income level, race, religion, gender or national origin. |

Maintain PMA Center & School as direct arts service providers and resources to the arts community, nonprofits, schools, and general public. |

Provide support and direction for arts education and performance projects not otherwise available through the public or private sector. Work in concert with artists, other organizations, agencies and programs to provide, support, and encourage arts programs. |

Foster appreciation and awareness of the benefits that arts bring to our community; arts enrich our lives, encourage creativity and open new perspectives in all aspects of life. |

Actively pursue a philosophy of non-discrimination and honor the diversity of this community and the richness it brings. |
