Metro Dancers Performances

2012-2013 Season

May 9 - 11, 2013

Coppelia is a wonderfully exciting comic story of an eccentric inventor, the animated doll he creates and the havoc they cause in their small village.  Music, costumes, sets and the dancers’ skill combine to make this a performance event you will not want to miss. This exciting interpretation of Coppelia is not only great dancing but also great theatre.  The original production was so popular on the stage that it was made into an award-winning motion picture featuring Walter Slezak.  This funny and fast paced story is the perfect first ballet for novices of all ages and is a bright new perspective for those familiar with the ballet.

Washington Park Rose Garden Amphitheatre

Late July 2013

Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner to enjoy an excellent program set against the beautiful backdrop of the evening City skyline.  Metro Dancers are joined by other performers for a diverse program of family-friendly entertainment.  Remember to bring jackets as the Washington Park Amphitheatre can be chilly in the evenings.

We have done something to simplify your life, give you a great value and make a little money for PMA. We have made arrangements with Bridges Café to prepare wonderful boxed meals and deliver them to Washington Park on concert day. The food is guaranteed to be wonderful, as it always is. So, after ordering your meals all you have to do is show up with your blanket and enjoy the concert. No hauling of picnic baskets needed.

A few points to clarify,

  1. - Because this is an opportunity that involves pre-ordered food, refunds are not possible.
  2. - If you order a meal and find you are unable to attend, we will pass your meal on to a food charity and consider your purchase a donation to Portland Metro Arts.
