Outreach Programs
Community & Afterschool Onsite Programs
Our arts programs are offered at various satellite locations throughout the community. In addition to afterschool classes onsite at public and private schools we have partnerships with other organizations such as the Laurelhurst Club. By bringing our arts programs to satellite locations we can better serve a broader spectrum of the community.
In-School Programs
Our arts enrichment programs complement the standard school curriculum and enable students to work with professional artists skilled in each of the four disciplines. These successful outreach programs encourage parents, students, teachers and artists to work together towards a creative learning environment.

4 ARTS: Dance, Theatre, Music, and Visual Art
Bringing arts literacy into the classroom. Students experience each of the arts through active participation in engaging and challenging activities, while teachers find new and creative ways to help kids meet benchmarks. Single day to extended period options are available for all grade levels. Most programs involve several classrooms within a school in one 30-45 minute class each week, for two to four weeks each of dance, theatre, music and visual art. We work with classroom teachers to tailor our program to fit their specific needs.
Introduction to: Dance, Theatre, Music or Visual Art
Single subject arts programs, that are integrated with common curriculum guidelines. Concepts in language arts, math, science, reading and spatial orientation are interpreted through Dance, Theatre, Music or Visual Art. Programs for all grade levels are available from a single day to an extended period.
Career Day Speakers: Dance, Theatre, Music or Visual Art
Professionals with vast experience in their field, bring to the students an array of job possibilities. Information about all aspects of the profession including education, work experience, and salary ranges is given. Kids find out what they can be doing now to explore a career in the arts.
School Day performances
Alice in Wonderland
Remember the busy White Rabbit, the mysterious Cheshire Cat, and the domineering Queen of Hearts? Children and adults alike will enjoy the dance re-creation of Lewis Carroll's two marvelous folktales; Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Memorable vignettes are enacted in METRO DANCERS' performance of ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Visit the Tea Party, the Chess Game, the Nursery Book and the Garden of Live Flowers. Watch Alice try to play her way through a game of croquet with flamingoes for mallets and some uncooperative playing cards as wickets. Winning is losing in the illogical logic of Wonderland. Set design and costumes match the fancifulness of plot and character. Truly a delight for the senses.
